MIDDLE SCHOOL EDUCATION

Responsibilities:

  • With the assistance of principals, assistant principals, teachers, and curriculum committees, plan, implement and coordinate the curricular program for middle schools.

  • Recommend to the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction the adoption of basic curriculum changes and pilot programs.

  • Review and evaluate building options program as recommend by principals.

  • Help select and recommend for appointment, evaluate and provide in-service training for Middle School principals and assistant principals.

  • Provide counsel with principals in selection and in-service training for middle school principals and assistant principals.

  • Plan, direct and control a district wide budget for middle school education as approved by the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.

  • Assume a leadership role for implementing effective schools research and all requirements of the “No Child Left Behind” and “Race to the Top” legislation, in areas of responsibility.
