The Shelby County Board of Education is composed of seven members which include a chairman and a vice-chairman. The superintendent will serve as secretary to the Board.
The board has one (1) standing committee, the executive committee. The chair of the board of education and superintendent constitute the executive committee of the board of education 1
Special committees may be appointed by the chairman subject to Board approval or at the direction of the Board as the needs of the Board shall require.
