TEACHERS - MOONLIGHTING

The Shelby County Board of Education subscribes to and conforms to the legislation of the State of Tennessee regarding additional part-time employment of teachers employed by the system full time.1

An act passed by the Tennessee General Assembly in May, 1973, allows a teacher employed full-time by an institution of public education to be employed on a part-time basis by another public education institution within certain time limits, provided such employment is approved by the institution employing the teacher on a full-time basis.

Part-time work of teachers for pay should not exceed 400 clock hours per nine months.
