Welcome
to the Framework for Evaluation and Professional
Growth web site for Shelby County Schools. From this location you
will be able to link to all forms, documents, and needed material for your evaluation
cycle. It is the goal of the Human Resources department to aid, guide,
and assist the teachers of Shelby County Schools in their quest to be teachers
of excellence
for the students they serve.
As stated in the Overview of the state handbook, "The Framework for Evaluation and Professional
Growth is a research-based, public description of the teacher's performance
in areas validated as critical to effective teaching. The framework provides
descriptors for the complex act of teaching to allow evaluators and observers
to make reasonable and fair decisions
about teacher performance in the classroom. The framework provides 44 criteria
clustered in six domains. These criteria are documented through both
empirical and theoretical research as having a
positive impact on student learning."
Our evaluators in Shelby County Schools are administrators trained locally by
a State Department of Education licensed trainer.
