Mission Statement

The faculty and staff of Dexter Elementary are committed to providing a safe and nuturing educational environment for each child. Our goal for each student is for him/her to reach his/her maximum intellectual, physical, social, creative, and emotional potential while learning to successfully meet daily challenges as well as the challenges of the future.

Beliefs

*Each student can learn, achieve, and succeed.

*All school decisions are made to insure optimum learning, achievement, and success of our students.

*Open communication among faculty, parents, administration, and community stakeholders is encouraged to maximize student success.

*Fine arts, awareness/sensitivity to diverse cultures, and creative endeavors enrich the educational experience of each student.

*Technology is integrated into all curriculum areas to ensure the acquisition of the essential tools for each student to become acclimated to a technological society.

*The wellness curriculum encourages each student to learn the skills necessary to lead a healthy lifestyle.

*Student learning and instruction are motivated by a safe, nurturing, physically comfortable, and challenging environment complimented with high expectations.

*Teaching strategies are varied to enhance student learning of the curriculum standards while meeting the needs of individual students.

* Achievement and growth through problem solving strategies, differentiated instruction, and ongoing assessment are implemented.

*All Dexter Elementary stakeholders follow district, state, and federal policies.
