Principal

I grew up in the Germantown community and graduated from Germantown High School. I received my undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Memphis. During my tenure with Shelby County schools, it has been my pleasure to teach at Crump and Farmington Elementary Schools. I began my administrative career at Germantown Elementary in 2000. The following year GES had a reduction in students and I was reassigned to Dogwood Elementary where I have spent the past 7 years. I have been married to my husband Dan for 30 years, and we have 1 daughter, Brooke. Since Brooke recently left for college,we are empty nesters. During the week my time will be devoted to the students at Germantown Elementary and the weekends will be spent attending games at the University of Mississippi where my daughter now attends school.

I am a native Shelby County resident with sixteen years of experience in the field of education.  I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's in Leadership in Leadership and Policy Issues from the University of Memphis.  I taught second, fourth and fifth grades at four elementary schools in both north and south Shelby County over the six years I was a classroom teacher.  I received my endorsement in Administration and Supervision in 1998, the very year I began my career as an administrator with Shelby County Schools.  I spent nine years at Collierville Middle School as a Curriculum Coordinator/Assistant Principal.  I have an eight year old daughter, Jordyn, the absolute love of my life!  She is so very excited that I will now be working in an elementary school!  I am sure you will see her by my side on many occasions.

I consider myself truly blessed to be a part of the "success" known as Germantown Elementary School.  I look forward to working with the fine Germantown Elementary staff, students, parents and community.
