Germantown Elementary provides Resource Classes for students in grades K-5. The children in these classes have been identified as having a need for remediation in Reading, Math, English and organizational skills. This department consists of regular Resource classes and expanded Resource classes for those in need of additional instruction. Johnnie Levy, Charlene Crouse, and Patricia Davis provide positive and rewarding learning for the students attending their classes.
Speech and Language Classes
Speech and Language classes are provided for all children who have needs in articulation, language development, voice and fluency. This service is also extended to Preschoolers from age three. Our wonderful teacher who achieves success with these children year after year is Janet Griffin. At the awards program at the end of each school year, special graduating certificates are presented to the students who have successfully completed the speech curriculum.
The Apex
Program

Twila Guy is the extraordinary teacher who leads the children who have been identified as being gifted into areas of higher level thinking skills. These classes meet each week with students who have been released from their regular classrooms in order to participate in this exciting and extremely rewarding program. As part of their curriculum, they study ancient cultures, produce games and books and engage in many exciting and varied activities throughout the year.
