Our mission is to provide all primary grade children with a safe, nurturing environment, endowed with the proper tools to promote academic achievement coupled with good decision making through innovative educational strategies.
At Highland Oaks Primary School we believe that:
- All students will be valued and regarded as members of the Highland Oaks Primary family.
- The HOPS family, including students, faculty, staff, parents and members of the community, will work together to ensure a safe, nurturing environment, which promotes attendance and is conducive to successful learning.
- All students, although unique in their style of learning, have the ability to learn and improve their intellectual capacities through diverse approaches to instruction.
- Students are provided opportunities to become actively engaged in the learning process through critical thinking, solving problems, presenting ideas, as well as working with others.
- Members of the HOPS family will develop peer relationships, which will promote an understanding of diversity while learning to respect and cooperate with one another.
- All students should embrace necessary skills to become responsible contributors of society.
- The faculty and staff will nurture the growth of each student socially, intellectually, physically, emotionally, morally, aesthetically and kinesthetically.
- Developing positive relationships, displaying cooperative behavior and exhibiting mutual respect for the school family will encourage the students to become understanding individuals.
- The faculty will participate in professional development programs to incorporate innovative concepts in the classroom.
- Above all, parents, students, teachers, staff, administrators and community members share responsibility for providing an environment, which supports the mission, beliefs and vision of our school.

Highland Oaks Primary School is a place where compassion, understanding and learning unite to promote high levels of academic success, personal development and leadership skills.
