Dress Code

Please be reminded that shirts should be tucked into pants. If a student wears pants with belt loops, a belt is required. Pants should fit appropriately at the waist. Students may wear sweatshirts as long as they fit correctly. That means oversized sweatshirts or jackets are in violation of the established dress code. These expectations are applicable for boys and for girls. Students who are not in compliance will be gently reminded. If the reminders are made on a day to day basis and interfere with instruction, we will ask you to assist. Students in grades K-1 are being made aware of dress code expectations and compliance is based on their developmental needs.

All Shelby County students (K-12) are expected to dress and appear in a manner which meets reasonable standards of health, cleanliness, modesty, and safety. The dress code guidelines are provided in Policy 6205.
