Kindergarten at Oak Elementary is a fun, active, hands on learning experience. Our program is child centered with an emphasis on academics as well as personal and social development. Parents are our partners in this "beginning" stage of formal education.

Our language arts program focuses on the five elements of reading - phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. We will be using a manipulative-based math curriculum. Students will have an opportunity to problem solve using hands on activities. Social studies, science, and health are taught through thematic units.

Art, music, physical education, and library are taught by special instructors. Technology is an integral part of our curriculum. All of our classes have a computer with internet access.

Each Kindergarten teacher brings a unique gift for teaching and the children reap the benefits of a good, solid, foundation in their stepping stones of their educational path. To attend Kindergarten at Oak Elementary is to learn to love learning.
