Pre-K and KINDERGARTEN

Jennifer Kleckley Pre-K

Jennifer Kleckley graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught one year in Louisiana and this is her first year teaching for Shelby County Schools.

Lisa Thomas

Mrs. Thomas graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Mississippi. She has taught kindergarten since then. Nine of those years she taught in Mississippi, and five years in New Mexico. She taught two years in Louisiana and joined Shelby County in August, 2002.

Kim Martin

Mrs. Martin graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. She has been teaching for 17 years with Shelby County Schools.

Linda LiCause

Mrs. LiCause graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Norfolk State University in Virginia. She received a Master's Degree from Union University. She has been teaching for 13 years and has taught in Virginia Beach, VA, Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico and now in Shelby County.

Heather Strong

Mrs. Strong graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. She has been teaching kindergarten for Shelby County Schools since August of 2001.

Taneha Scott

Mrs. Scott graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Mississippi State University. She has been teaching for nine years, two of those years with Shelby County Schools.


Katie McKinney

Katie McKinney graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. She also has a Master's Degree from Union University. She has been teaching for Shelby County Schools for 4 years.

Mrs. Carter graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis. She has been teaching 11 years for Shelby County Schools.

Jan Cannon

Ms. Cannon graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. Ms. Cannon has been teaching for 18 years with Shelby County Schools.

Mrs. Smith graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Tennessee. She also recieved a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from University of Tennessee and has completed graduate course work at the University of Memphis. She has been teaching for 21 years, 19 of those years with Shelby County Schools.

Liga McGahan

Mrs. McGahan graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Weber State University. She has been teaching for 25 years, 13 of those years with Shelby County Schools.

Elizabeth Raybeck

Mrs. Raybeck graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of North Alabama and attended Baylor University. Following many years of teaching in Europe, she has spent the last 16 years with Shelby County Schools.

Angela Turner

Mrs. Turner has a Bachelor's Degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She has been teaching for 12 years, 2 of those with Shelby County Schools.

Kerri Poole

Mrs. Poole graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. She has been teaching for 5 years with Shelby County Schools.

Kim Stewart

Mrs. Stewart graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Lambuth College and also attended the University of Memphis. She has been teaching for 11 years, 8 of those years with Shelby County Schools.

Ms. Abernathy graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She received her Master's Degrees from Vanderbilt University. She has been teaching for 5 years, 3 of those years with Shelby County Schools.

Kathy Hauss

Mrs. Hauss graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the University of Memphis. She taught 8 years for Memphis City Schools. This is her second year with Shelby County schools.

Sheila Rapp

Mrs. Rapp graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. She received her Master's Degree from Union University. She has been teaching for 12 years with Shelby County Schools.

Janet Reed

Mrs. Reed graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Little Rock University. She has been teaching for 24 years, 13 of those years with Shelby County Schools.

Cathy Dohmen

Mrs. Dohmen graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Memphis State University. She received her Master's Degree in Administration & Supervision from Trevecca College. Cathy received National Board Certification in 1998, then renewed her certification in the Fall of 2007. She has been teaching for 19 years with Shelby County Schools.

JoAnn Robinson

Ms. Robinson graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Post-Bacalaurate in Elementary Education from the University of Arizona. She has been teaching for 15 years, 9 of those with Shelby County.

Ms. Sindorf graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville. She is enjoying her first year teaching in Shelby County.

Ms. Burton graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education. She received a Master's in Education from Christian Brothers University. This is Ms. Burton's first year teaching with Shelby County Schools.

Sara Strickland

Mrs. Strickland graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education and Master of Science in Administration and Supervision from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She has been teaching 6 years with Shelby County Schools, 4 of those years in middle school and 2 in elementary school.

Lori McCallum

Ms. McCallum graduated with a bachelor's Degree from the University of Memphis. She has been teaching for 7 years with Shelby County Schools, 5 of those years in middle school and 2 in elementary school.

Linda Dotson

Mrs. Dotson graduated from Memphis State University with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts Degree. She has been teaching for 18 years with Shelby County Schools.

Jesse Hanks

Mrs. Hanks is currently in her seventh year as an art teacher. She has
taught all grade levels K-12. She feels lucky to be in her third year as an Elementary art teacher with Shelby County Schools.
Mrs. Hanks has a BFA from Delta State University. She received her Graduate teaching Degree from the University of Memphis. She is also the proud Mom of a three year old little boy.

Kathryn Parker

Ms. Parker received a Bachelor's Degree from Lambuth University with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Education. This is her second year to be teaching with Shelby County Schools.

Lynn Rushdi

Mrs. Rushdi graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor's Degree in Consumer Sciences. She earned her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University and her +45 from Union University. She taught 23 years in Virginia. This is her third year teaching in Shelby County.

Ms. Knight graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Alabama. She been teaching for 7 years with Shelby County Schools.

Mary Jane McAllister

Mrs. McAllister graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University with a major in 7-12 Mathematics and minor in K-12 Music. She also attended the University of Memphis for her Master's of Science in Foundations of Education.. Mrs. McAllister has been teaching for 23 years, 21of those years with Shelby County Schools.

Sylvia Noel

Ms. Noel graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Central Arkansas. She also attended the University of Central Arkansas for her Master's Degree. Ms. Noel has been teaching for 29 years, 16 of those years with Shelby County Schools.

Deena Burford

In 1974 Mrs. Burford graduated from Rocky Mountain High. She attended Graceland College in Iowa and graduated with a BA in Health and Physical Eduation with a teaching endorsement for grades K-12. In 1999, she received her Master's in Early Childhood Education from the U of M. She is married and has 3 sons.

K-3

Mrs. Besteda graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan. She has been teaching for 15 years, 2 years with Shelby County Schools.

Tamara Germany

3-5

Mrs. Germany graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies 7-12 from the University of North Alabama. She received her Special Education Endorsement K-12 from the University of Memphis. Mrs. Germany began her teaching career with Memphis City Schools in the SBCD-CDC program. She taught for MCS for seven years. She is beginning her 9th year as a teacher for Shelby County Schools, six of those years were at Appling Middle School as a regular resource teacher.

Ms. Wilson has been a Shelby County teacher for 20 years.She earned her BSEd and Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Memphis State University. She has taught in both elementary and middle schools in Collierville. Ms. Wilson has 2 daughters, 2 cats and 3 grandchildren.

Shelly Misenheimer Spanish

Senora eme graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language and Literature with a concentration in Spanish. She received a Master's in the Art of Teaching in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Elementary Education. She studied in Spain at the University of St. Louis. This year begins her fourth year teaching Spanish.

Dana Seigel ESL

Mrs. Siegel gradated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, Louisiana. While living and teaching in Los Angeles, CA, she earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, an English as a Second Language Credential, her Reading Recovery Teacher Leader Credential and completed doctoral course work in the area of Early Literacy Acquisition with a focus on intervention. She is now enjoying her second year at Sycamore.

Mrs. Laurenzi graduated from Memphis State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She got her Master’s Degree from Memphis and has taught with the county in grades 5 through 8. She has been a CTT for 6 years and is assigned to Southwind Elementary, Collierville Middle and Sycamore Elementary.

Ms. Zachry graduated from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy. She also graduated from the University of Memphis with a M.S. in Leadership and Policy Studies. She is working on her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology.
