AGRI-SCIENCE AND NATURAL RESOURCES
AH122 Grades 9-10
This course is an introductory level course in agriculture
and natural resources. Since agriculture is the leading
industry in the nation, this course will emphasize the
importance of natural resources, agriculture, and related
sciences. Students will be introduced to agronomy,
horticulture, environmental science, hydroponics, forestry,
and plant science.

INTRODUCTION TO GREENHOUSE MANAGEMENT
AH255 Grades 9, 10
Introduction to Greenhouse is designed to provide
students with an understanding of the greenhouse industry,
including marketing and finance. Students will be given an
opportunity to work in the greenhouse growing greenhouse
crops and landscape plants.
PREREQUISITES - None Credit 1/2
GREENHOUSE MANAGEMENT AH355
Grades 10, 11, 12
This course includes basic plant science, greenhouse
management, raising and using foliage and annual plants.
Floriculture, landscape design and planting are also
emphasized. Students actually grow and care for plants in
the greenhouse and on the school campus. Participation in
the horticulture youth organization is encouraged.
PREREQUISITES - None Credit 1
FLORICULTURE AH375 Grades 11,
12
Students maintain the greenhouse, schedule the planting
of greenhouse crops and prepare these crops for sale.
Floriculture, landscape design and contracting, and
turfgrass management will be studied in depth.
PREREQUISITES - Greenhouse Management Credit 1
TURF AND GROUNDS MANAGEMENT AH272
Grades 11, 12
This course is an extension of floriculture and designed
for students who have an interest in turf management. It
includes a study of the establishment and maintenance
practices used by successful turfgrass managers. Relevant
scientific theory and practical management skills are
integral to this course. The course begins with an overview
of the industry, showing its relative size and the
opportunities available to people knowledgeable of turf
practices. Students who register for this course should also
register for Exterior and Interior Landscaping.
PREREQUISITES - Floriculture, Greenhouse Management I or II

EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LANDSCAPING
AH262 Grades 11, 12
This course is an extension of floriculture and designed
for students who are interested in landscape design. It
includes a study of practices used by successful landscape
architects. Some time will be devoted to employment
opportunities in exterior and interior landscaping. Students
who take this course should plan to take Turf and Grounds
Management also.
PREREQUISITES - Floriculture, Greenhouse Management I or II
