Clubs
Art--Martin – Room 108
Students will be focusing on entering art contests, taking field trips, and maintaining a focus on enriching themselves artistically. In order to be admitted into the Art Club, you must have an interest in the arts as well as an ability to draw, paint, sculpt, or perform in an artistic manner.
Board Games- Garner/Baucke- Room 116
Builder's Club is a student led community service organization whose objectives are to provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community; to develop leadership potential; to foster the development of strong moral character; and to encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.
Literary Eagles—Inman/Fortenberry-Library
Open to all students. Small groups will meet to analyze and evaluate the selected book they have chosen to read. We are looking for students who enjoy exciting books and interesting conversations. Included will be adventure, mystery, science fiction, romance, comedy, etc. All reading will be done before the club meets.
Chess- Mattix - Room 3
Open to all students. Students must be interested in playing and/or learning chess. Any level of ability is acceptable and students will be paired with similar skill level peers. Sportsmanship and a good attitude, as well as a willingness to learn are required.
Choir Club- Norman- Room 121/123
Open to all choir students. Students should be interested in working on projects to promote the choir’s activities in the school. Students will work on posters and signs to announce upcoming choir fundraisers, performances, and events like talent shows.
Multicultural Dance- E. Williams/Katko - Room 204
This club is open to all students. Students must be interested in learning to celebrate diversity through the art of dance. Students will expand their knowledge of people from other nationalities through dancing. The group will perform during the Black History Month Celebration.
Geography Bee Club- Linebaugh/Wetzel – Room 10
Students will have the opportunity to learn about the facts of the world and prepare for the Geography Bee to be held later in the year.
Sports Club- Edwards/Willett - GYM
The Sports Club will introduce students to the many popular sports and activities. Students will learn fundamental skills of playing sports, including proper form of the multiple styles of throws and catches. While mastering these basic skills, club members will also spend time learning the rules and procedures of various sports such as Volleyball, Badminton, and Kickball. Through instruction, demonstration, and good old fashion play, students should walk away with a true appreciation of sports of all kinds.
Kaleidoscope Players- Hinkel- Cafeteria
Open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Kaleidoscope Players will explore theatre technique for basic acting skills, voice and stage movement, and technical theater to create a play/musical performance as a final product.

Students will participate in the art of taking pictures of nature, abstract scenes, and people. The pictures will be studied by seeing life through the eyes of the camera.
B.O.L.T.S. – Schwendimann/Katko – Room 200
Students will participate in activities that enhance the beauty of the school and increase environmental awareness. Activities include setting up recycling centers, planting flowers, and maintaining the school grounds.

Open to all students interested in learning about the Russian language. Students will learn basic words and numbers from the Russian culture—a lesson each meeting.
Pep Club- Moulton/Riddle - Room 11
Pep Club is open to all students who are interested in promoting school spirit. The Pep Club makes signs and banners to help support athletics and other students who are representing the school in a wide variety of activities
Science Club – Duff/Wappler – Science Lab
Students will participate in enriching science lab activities and will also assist in maintaining the science lab. Students will create a Science Fair project.
Spelling Bee/Scrabble Club- Lancaster/McKelvy - Room 11
Open to students interested in improving their spelling, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills.
Bible Club- Mitchell/Johnson – Portable 10
Open to all students. Our purpose is to provide a forum for Christian youth to express, share, and strengthen their faith. There will be inspirational meetings, guest speakers, and service projects. Members will be encouraged to serve our school and community with a serving attitude.
Wordsmith – Black/Miller- Room 8
This club is open to all students who have a yen to express themselves through writing. Students will learn different poetry techniques as well as create a variety of creative fiction stories.
Italian Club- Carboni/Crain - Room 110
Open to all students interested in learning about the Italian culture. Students will study Italy’s people, cuisines, art, and way of life.
Peer Mediation – Smith/Virginia – Room 100
Students that are trained to help other students resolve disputes peacefully in order that both parties feel they have gotten a win/win solution. They hone their own leadership abilities as they work on communication, critical thinking, and practical life skills.
E.L.T. (Educational Leaders of Tomorrow) – Mason/E. Taylor – Room 203
Students who will help their school through the E.L.T. Program assist teachers and office staff. An E.L.T. may do a variety of tasks such as help students who have been absent catch up on schoolwork, make bulletin boards, run errands, or alphabetize forms.
Peer Ambassadors – Fanning/Ledford – Room 105
This group will represent the student body in special programs. They serve as tour guides for visitors and prospective Eagles and their families, and they also help host special ceremonies and school functions.
Scrap Booking Club – Schwendimann/E. Taylor- Portable 8
Students will put memories together in a book to keep for a lifetime. Various materials will be used to bring photos and articles to life all over again.
Technology Club – Lebo/Sims/Hovinga – Computer Lab 112/126
Students will begin to be trained in the 21st Century lab by learning how to use various programs that will enhance their computer skills and improve their classroom skills.
SAAD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) – Smith/Virginia - Guidance Office
This group will discover ways to deal with middle school and everyday life problems in a positive way.
