Photography
Club

The Photography Club
provides members instruction in improving their photography skills.
Students photograph academic and extracurricular activities at Elmore
Park. Members may be in sixth, seventh, or eighth grade. Members must
maintain satisfactory progress in academic and conduct reports. All
members must have a 35 mm camera.

Chorus

The purpose of the
Elmore Park Middle School Chorus is to provide enrichment
opportunities for students who have an appreciation and interest in
singing and performing. It also enables participants to learn
cooperation and discipline as well as offering a solid base for
self-awareness.

Basketball

The Eagles basketball
teams consists of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. The purpose of the
teams is to promote sportsmanship while improving basketball skills.
The teams are competitive with tryouts taking place in the month of
September. We have a girls team (Lady Eagles) and a boys team
(Eagles).

B.O.L.T.S

The B.O.L.T.S (Beautify
Our Lovely Tennessee School) Club sponsors activities that will
enhance the beauty of the school. The club is a school based program
designed to create an awareness of environmental issues. Membership
is open to 6th, 7th. and 8th graders who are interested in keeping
our environment clean and safe. All members must maintain
satisfactory conduct, attend at least two after school meetings,
participate in club activities.

Geography
Bee
The Geography Bee is
held in December or January each year. Through the Bee, students will
have an opportunity to discover the world around them and to open
doors to new learning experiences. The Bee is sponsored by the
National Geographic Society and Sylvan Learning Centers, and its
purpose is to restore geography to every classroom in the country; in
addition, we at Elmore Park Middle School, are helping to prepare
tomorrow's leaders and policy makers.

Bible
Club

The Bible Club meets in
the music room on
the first and third Friday
of every month. During the meetings, students offer fellowship to one
another by discussing middle school issues. The students present
miniature sermons to the group, and determine ways to spread joy and
minister to those in need.

The Elmore Park Middle
School Junior Beta Club's purpose is to provide service to our school

Leaders of Tomorrow

E.L.T. (Educational Leaders of
Tomorrow) is a school-based program that is designed to promote
future educators and create an awareness of the meaningful roles
displayed by educators.
Members, during study hall
time, will assist teachers. Some of their duties will include doing
bulletin boards, filing papers, and assisting others as peer
tutors

Science
Fair

The Science Fair
Coordinators establish and coordinate the guidelines for the 6th,
7th, and 8th grade students. Proper instructions are provided in
safety, setup, and judging of all science projects. The Science Fair
for each grade level has an assigned date for completion, judging,
and removal of the projects.

Science
Olympiad

Members of Elmore Park's Science Olympiad team meet weekly to
prepare for the West Tennessee Regional Tournament, which is held at
the University of Memphis. They also work independently to gain
expertise in life, physical, earth, and engineering sciences. This
year's tournament included a variety of events, ranging from
Amphibians to Water Striders.

Spelling
Bee

The Elmore Park Middle
School Spelling Bee is held each December. Contestants are the
winners of spelling bees held in reading classes. The winner of the
school spelling bee advances to the Memphis-Shelby County Spelling
Bee.

Art
Club
The Art Club is open to all
students. The Art club meets twice a month, working on art projects
which are not done during regular class time. Poster competitions,
Christmas decorations, and commercial art are three of the main
projects.

Cheer
leading

Each year eighteen 7th
and 8th graders are chosen as Elmore Park Cheerleaders. Elmore Park
is a competitive squad that attends Ole Miss UCA cheer leading camp
each year. The squad sets their goals high and participates in at
least three different competitions throughout the school year. The
cheerleaders cheer for the school's basketball team and improve
school spirit by hosting the pep rallies. The cheerleaders raise
money through various fund raising activities.

Pep
Club

The Pep Club is open to 6th,
7th, and 8th grade boys and girls. the Pep Club helps to support the
basketball teams and tries to encourage and promote school spirit
throughout the Elmore Park community. Cheering at ball games and
making signs and banners are the club's main activities.

Year
Book
The Elmore Park Middle School Year Book is produced by Mr. Keith
Martin. Student assistants are chosen on a as needed basis. Pictures
must be made of all students in each home room, every club, and
activity. Names must be put with all the pictures, and the basic
layout for the yearbook must be carefully put together. Deadlines
from the publisher make this an exciting task!

Elmore
Park Middle School Band
The Elmore Park Middle School band program consists of
approximately 180 members in grades six through eight. All band
members participate in a holiday concert in December and in an
outdoor spring concert, weather permitting, in April. Elmore Park has
several different performing instrumental ensembles , including the
Sixth Grade Band, Seventh and Eighth Grade Band, Marching Eagle Band,
and Concert Band. Students are required to furnish their own
instruments. Students are expected to practice daily in order to
develop their skills, thus providing a meaningful contribution to the
band program. Students are expected to attend all performances as
part of their grade. Through pride, practice, and performance, the
students can truly enjoy the rewarding experience of band and music,
thus enhancing their musical skills through performances for our
school and the community.

Students Against Destructive
Decisions is a group who works to help students avoid making
potentially destructive decisions. The group organizes Red Ribbon
Week and walks in the
Bartlett Christmas Parade.

The Drama club works on acting
skills and presents a play at the end of the school year.
Many students also work behind the scenes in costumes, set design,
and other areas.

The Step Team learns routines
and performs at meeting, games, and other school events.
They promote school spirit! Students must tryout for a position on
the team

The Technology Team works with a coach to keep the school's technology clean and running properly.

Peer Mediators are selected by
teachers through an interview process. These students
work with guidance to help solve disputes between other students that
have been referred.

The Literary Club works with the Librarian to keep the Library nice and to learn about different books.
