Family Dinner Night and The Mighty Red Devil Band Concert Monday, December 14th


Want to have a family dinner at GMS? Come to GMS between 5:00-6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14th, and enjoy Domino’s Pizza! Domino’s will be selling their food and drinks in the GMS cafeteria.


Following the family dinner, please stick around and enjoy the sounds of The Mighty Red Devil Band as they will be performing their annual holiday concert!

Here are Middle School appropriate events we have coming up in November and December. We'll have more in the Spring, too, but I won't have details about those until we submit the info for the FYI:
 
Chess Club
Saturdays, November 7 and December 5, 2 p.m.
Ages: 6-12
Participants can learn to play chess and hone chess skills by playing against other learners. Chess sets provided. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Please call 757-7323 to sign up.
 
Minecraft Mondays
Mondays, November 9 and December 14, 5 to 8 p.m.
Ages: 9 to 12 years
Play on the Germantown Library Server from home. The server will be open for approved tween users to build, explore, and hang out with fellow Minecrafters. Featuring a common spawn-point, participants can mine, build, and craft in the library’s world in a safe, enjoyable environment. To play, stop by the Children's desk to pick up an application. Parent/guardian's signature is required. Participants must have their own Minecraft account. For more information, please call 757.7323.
 
Minecraft Community Build
Monday, November 30, 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Ages: 9 to 12 years
Meet fellow tween Minecrafters at the library to work together to build in the library’s world. Share ideas and see what amazing creations the library’s tween Minecraft community can build. Participants must have their own Minecraft account. Space is limited. Registration is required and begins the Monday before the program. Please call 757-7323 to sign up.
 
It’s a Tween Thing Book Club
Thursdays, November 19 and December 17, 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 9 to 12 years
An active book club for active tweens. Read the book, discuss it with other tweens and participate in games, crafts or other activities based on the book. Bring a friend and join the fun. For more information on the book for a specific day, contact the library at 757.7323.
 
Tween Anime Club
Tuesdays, November 17 and December 15, 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 9 to 12 years
Anime Club just for tweens. Meet other fans, try interesting Asian snacks and watch great anime. For more information, please call 757.7323.

Challenge students to represent themselves, their school and their future — every day! 


Up to 700 students will win!

  1. Students who attend school 30 of 30 days are entered into a random drawing for a Grizzlies shirt, autographed player photo and a pair of tickets to an upcoming home game. 


  1. Students who attend school 27 or more days are entered into a random drawing for a shirt OR an autographed photo.


  1. Schools with 90 percent school-wide attendance will be entered into a random drawing. Up to three classrooms will be awarded in each of the winning elementary, middle and high schools. All students in the winning classrooms will receive a Grizzlies shirt, autographed player photo and a pair of tickets to an upcoming home game.
