SFMS 2005-2006 OPPORTUNITIES FOR

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

PROJECT ATLAS:

Parents, relatives, and friends are asked to send a post card to the school whenever they travel outside of the Memphis area. Post cards will be displayed to promote the geography studies of the 7^th graders.

PULL TABS FOR THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE:

Students, parents, friends, and anyone else you know can help collect pull tabs from soda cans. Collection of this item benefits the Ronald McDonald House. Classes will compete to see which group can collect the most tabs during the year. A display will be erected in the school so the students can monitor their progress. Periodic announcements will be made to keep the students excited about this project.

BULLETIN BOARD SERVICE:

Teachers may request help with bulletin boards in their classrooms. The service may include anything from helping to hang materials to designing the board.

COPY SERVICE:

Teachers may request copy service from volunteers. Teachers will fill out a form, attach the item(s) to be copied as well as their paper supply, and will leave the bundle in the designated area in the library.

LIBRARY GUILD:

A Library Guild is forming in order to boost availability of reading material to our library and the Accelerated Reading Program, promote reading within the school, and provide support to SFMS library.
