Teachers,
This method of organizing these schools of theory is not meant to be scientific. I merely organized them based on the Internet sources I found, many of which discuss related theories simultaneously. I also want students to see how some schools of theory are reactions to other schools of theory and how many theories are extensions or variations of earlier theories. I do not pretend to be a theory expert, either. I simply want students to be exposed to--and to think critically about--some general types of literary theory.
