Do you like working with computers? This quest is to link computers and Art History. I know you don't like Art History. So, I will not ask that question. This Quest is, hopefully (but not in all cases), to make Art History interesting to you as Art 1 students. This quest is not a study of All of the History of art according to CALancaster. It is a way for the class to use the computer, Internet, and research methods, to investigate Art History, Major Artist and Major Periods, to create web pages on those topics, and to present them to the class.
The Task
What are you doing? Here is an outline of your tasks:
- Identify one: a major artist or a major period in Art History that you are interested.
- Clear the choice with the instructor.
- Use the outline to generate ideas that are important about the artist. If this is not available the instructor will provide the handout.
- Find the sources on the Internet that will help you get the information about the artist or period and document (save to disk or write down on outline).
- Organize the information in homepage document.
- You should have a graphic from the artist or period
- You should have a short biography about the artist or period
- Draw a sketch of the web page layout
- Any extra information is strictly up to you.
- Test your site on browser
- Save all page information to disk in a folder with your name as the title.
