You are our new Finance and Diplomatic Director.

As the new Finance and Diplomatic Director, you have some challenging responsibilities ahead of you. In order to be an asset to your team, it is essential that you complete the assignment in its entirety. For those of you wanting the highest level grade, creativity and extra effort are required. Your assignment is as follows:

• You must write a paper covering economics, politics, and government in France. Excellent papers would include a discussion of how history and culture influence these areas. The paper must be at least 500 wds. but no more than 1000 wds. long.
• You must organize a budget, a fundraising activity, and a political forum for Memphis in May. The budget must contain at least 5 different categories and must be submitted in U.S. dollars, French francs, and Euro dollars. The fundraising activity must be for a charitable organization that would be relevant to both France and the U.S.(a brief description must be included). The political forum or debate must be centered around a current events issue such as the union of the European Community or the issue of the Euro dollar.
• A brochure must accompany each activity (either in hardcopy form or in a computer slide show) except the budget. The budget will be submitted separately. The brochures must include brief explanations of the fundraiser and forum. The description of the forum must include sample questions and descriptions of guests who will be invited.
