Grade Level: Senior English

Duration: One to Two Weeks

Introduction:

As a prerequisite to the Final Literary paper, students must first

investigate biographical information about his/her author.

Task:

Students will be able to work in groups of two or three people.

  1. Author's place of birth/death
  2. Educational background
  3. A list of works produced by that author and where they were published
  4. A list of contemporary authors who might have been influential
  5. A list of three to five literary critics

Procedures:

I. Students in each group will make an original map to plot

all of the criteria as listed above.

II.  Each group of students will search the Web to compile a list

of motivating authors. Please keep in mind that a Research

Paper covering one of the author's works will be submitted

at a later date.

III. In reviewing graphic organizers students will:

 

IV. As a culminating activity, students will use Power Point to

make an oral slide presentation.

 

Conclusion: students will learn to correctly

utilize as well as document sources found on
