INTRODUCTION:

France is a beautiful and diverse country made up of several different regions. These regions have a long and interesting history and are made up of different dialects, culture, and people. Each of these regions together make France what it is today:

TASK

Would you like to take a field trip to France and explore the different regions, their cities, and monuments? Would you like to explore the different museums and see the sights you have read about? Well now is your chance. Get ready, get your passport, and get packed. As a class, we will take an imaginary trip to France.

Learner Task:
Each will choose the role of :

 

Each student will research their particular region from their point of view and create a one of the following visuals.

 

 

Choose from one of the following Regions 

  


PROCESS:
  1. You will be assigned a group (of 5 students)
  2. You will choose a role to play
  3. You will choose a region of France to research
  4. You will make an individual visual
  5. You will work as a group to create one visual of the entire region (must include information from each category)
  6. After you have collected your information, meet with the other members of your group to create an introduction to your project. (Choose one person to introduce the group)
  7. Write first person reports of your role-based on the information you found-Who are you? What are you doing? What did you find? (en français, bien sûr)
  8. Present your region (memorized) according to your character,taking the class on an imaginary trip to your area.
  9. Create a conclusion to your project and tell the class why your region should be visited and what makes it unique. Choose one group member to present the conclusion (using the group visual).
 


The Culminating activity will be for the group to come together to lead the rest of the class through an imaginary tour of their region. Each group member will create one individual visual to explain their point of view of the area and will present individually their information. The group will also collaborate to present one final visual of their region including aspects of each viewpoint.


EVALUATION:

Your Performance will be evaluated in the following five areas:

  2. Individual Visual: Historian, Sociologist, Geographer, Linguist, or Travel Agent
  3. Class Presentation
  4. Group Process(Including peer and self evaluation)
  5. Final Group Visual
