This WebQuest was developed as a part of the Shelby County Schools' High School Summer Technology Training Seminar held between June 14-25, 1999.
The purpose of this WebQuest is to help students gain insights into the German State of Bavaria. The topics focus on the history, culture, geography, economy, tourism, and government of the state. The students will be asked to design a web page highlighting these areas.
The WebQuest was designed with upper level German students in mind, but with the exception of some German language sites, it could be used for geography or beginning German classes.
Students will gain insights into broad topics concerning Bavaria.
Foreign Language Standards Addressed:
This WebQuest is design for groups of 6 to 12 students. The web page design will take at least one week to complete.
Entry Level Skills and Knowledge
Students will need to have a basic understanding of the programs, Inspiration and Claris Home Page. Students will need some understanding of German.
The teacher will need to have a good understanding of the region of Bavaria. It would be helpful if he/she would also have some books in print of Bavaria.
Students will create a web page and will be evaluated according to the rubric.
Hopefully, by the end of the WebQuest, the students will have a clear image of all things Bavarian.
