School Board members approved several rezoning plans for 2019-20 during the March 26 Business meeting. The vote follows a month-long community engagement process that allowed families, staff and community to share feedback about the rezoning proposals.
Currently, multiple schools across the District have zoned students who live closer to another school. The approved school zone adjustments ensure students are zoned to the closest possible neighborhood schools, which will help make enrollment more stable within feeder patterns and enable the District to expand courses, programs and other resources in the future.
Approved 2019-20 Rezonings
The approved rezonings below are not school-wide. Only a portion of addresses within the current zone are involved because they are closer to another school. As part of the proposal, current students could choose to remain at the school next year and through their exit grade. However, transportation services would not be provided. Siblings of students who will attend the current school next year will also receive priority in the School Choice Application Process if they choose to attend the same school. Future incoming students would be required to attend the newly zoned school.
