A National Book Award winning author visited White Station High School Thursday morning.

Jesmyn Ward, whose book "Salvage the Bones" won the National book award, spoke to hundreds of students about her life and career. Ward also read selections of her work.  Afterwards, Ward answered questions from students in several classes.  

"Salvage the Bones" also won the 2012 Alex Award, given by the Young Adult Library Association.
