Shelby County Schools (SCS) Director of Health Services, Dr. Patricia Bafford, has been tapped to receive a distinct honor. She has been awarded a Shining Star by the Shelby County Mayor’s Office. The award recognizes public servants in local government and the community whose contributions have made a significant impact.

“When you think about a star you think of something very small but powerful,” said Dr. Bafford. “When someone says you’re a star, it moves you to believe what you’re doing is shining that bright. For me, this award hits home because we work every day to make sure what is needed gets done and being recognized for your efforts makes it even more worth it.”
