Reimagining Leadership - New MSCS Program Offers Opportunities for Aspiring Leaders in Education

Leadership is vital to the success of any operation. In alignment with the District's devotion to create a better future in Memphis and Shelby County, MSCS is calling on dedicated professionals to take part in the Aspiring Leadership Fellowship Program (ALFP). The ALFP is designed to enhance core competencies, challenge and motivate participants to share ideas and forge professional relationships.

WHAT: Upcoming Informational Sessions

WHEN: Virtual: February 17 & 21 at 4 p.m.; In-person: February 15 at 4 p.m.

The ALFP is a carefully constructed series of Executive Seminars focused on Instructional, Executive, and Disruptive Leadership that will launch June 2022. Furthermore, this opportunity is designed to:

  • Intensely develop leadership skills and competencies to lead in an urban district
  • Provide opportunities for personal and academic growth, culminating in self and social awareness
  • Equip leaders with the essential insights, knowledge, and skills to directly improve leadership effectiveness and student achievement

 Qualifications

Applicants can be internal or external and must have a minimum of three years in an eligible role. The following groups are eligible to apply to the program: 

  • Teachers
  • Teacher-Types (Professional Learning Coaches/Instructional Facilitators/Professional School Counselors/Librarians)
  • Vice Principals/Assistant Principals
  • Central Office Employees with academic school experience

Qualifying individuals can apply beginning February 21 through March 21, 2022.
