The Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) Office of Human Resources (HR) continues to be recognized for its commitment to recruit and retain the best talent in the nation. Two MSCS HR leaders, who have demonstrated success in their field, are being honored as standout professionals as part of the Memphis Business Journal’s annual HR Impact Awards.

Executive Director of Talent Management, Brian Ingram, has been awarded for his work with the Comprehensive Teacher Induction program and implementing the New Teacher Academy. Compensation Director, Anitra Harps Webb, is recognized for her strategic work with the District’s teacher pay scale, along with increased compensation work with various roles across the District. As described by the publication, “each HR professional is vital to the overall health and well-being of MSCS.”
Brian M. Ingram, a lifelong Memphian and product of MSCS, has dedicated his career to making a positive impact in urban education. Brian is the former principal of Hamilton and Dunbar Elementary Schools. Throughout his career with MSCS, he has proven to galvanize community stakeholders in his various roles as well as teachers and other staff members to improve student outcomes and experiences.
Anitra Harps-Webb, also a former student of Memphis City Schools, joined the District in 2018 as compensation manager, following extensive experiences in corporate HR offices. Harps-Webb was promoted to oversee compensation efforts for the District as the Director, after demonstrating her commitment to the work to invest in our school administrators and students.
