MSCS 2023 Senior Spotlights: Sheffield High School

As the MSCS 2023 graduation season begins, we are spotlighting some of our exceptional seniors. These students exemplify this year’s theme, “The Class of 2023: We Stand Out.” As they prepare to embark on their next endeavors, we celebrate their accomplishments and are inspired by their reflections and aspirations for the future.

Pedro Alvarez believes the best way to see the future is to create it, and he’s been laying the foundation with a 4.0 GPA since he entered high school! Pedro is a little reserved and lets his grades to the talking, but in our conversation with him, we learned he is committed to building his leadership skills and utilizing his talents. Like many of his peers, lack of motivation threatened to become a challenge, but as a thinker and planner, Pedro committed to #FINISHSTRONG and is at the top of his class. Are you a Memphis Native? If not, where are you from? 

No, I am not a Memphis Native. I am from Rome, Georgia. 

 

What are your plans after graduation? 

My plan after graduation is to go to trade school. 

 

What obstacles or hardships have you overcome to be successful in high school? 

An obstacle I have overcome to be successful in high school is having the motivation to come to school every day.
