October 3, 2024 – As Dyslexia Awareness Month got underway in October, Richland Elementary School on Wednesday was set to host “Dyslexia 101,” a virtual session to help parents and others learn to identify dyslexia, dispel myths, and discover strategies to support children.
Families will learn how to know if a child has dyslexia, hear about dyslexia misconceptions and strategies and tools to help students succeed. The session is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The session was to be hosted by Gay Landaiche, director of the Erika Center at Bodine School, whose mission is to lead the Mid-South in teaching students with dyslexia to read and succeed.
