Whether your student is brand new to Memphis-Shelby County Schools or returning for another year, registration is required to be enrolled.
Current MSCS Pre-K students who will be entering Kindergarten are considered new students, so please follow the steps for new student registration.
Students who previously attended MSCS, but most recently attended a non-MSCS school, are considered new students. To request that your PowerSchool account be reactivated, please email [email protected],

Please contact your child's zoned school or approved school choice location to request a PowerSchool account to begin registration. For additional assistance, you may send an email to

Parents/guardians must submit proof of a valid state ID, a copy of the student's birth certificate (recommended, but not required), and two (2) approved proofs of residence with the email. (A social security card is also preferred, but not required.) Please contact the SEED office at 416-6007 for a list of acceptable documents.
Once all required information is received, a member of the registration team will be in touch to verify and provide an access code to create your PowerSchool parent account for registration.
Just log into your PowerSchool parent account to complete registration for your zoned school or approved school choice location. Click here for help with PowerSchool. *Returning students who do not register will NOT be enrolled in the fall.

Students must have proper proof of required immunizations and physicals or an approved exemption on file to attend school. All students (new and returning) entering Kindergarten and 7th grade must submit proof of immunizations.

New students can register for their zoned school, pending approval of their school choice application. Parents do not have to complete a duplication registration application awaiting approval. If approved, the student’s registration will be moved to the approved school.
