2005 NCLB Blue Ribbon School

An academically superior optional school, Delano Elementary school is a 2005 recipient of the 2005 U.S. Department of Education's No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon Award.  This national honor recognized Delano as a school whose students score in the top 10% on state test, regardless of their backgrounds or demographic makeup.

 

EPIC Silver Award Winning School

To be eligible for EPIC awards, an MCS school must have made academic gains, measured by TCAP and Gateway test data in all subject areas, with no regression during the 2007-08 school year, compared with the 2006-07 school year. In addition, at least 50 percent of the student population at qualifying schools must receive free and reduced lunch.
