Gardenview Elementary Celebrates Read Across America Day

When given a lemon what do you do?  Take it, and make lemonade of course, and that's exactly what we did for our Read Across America Day that was canceled due to ice and snow.  After speaking with our fifth graders about the cancellation; several of them were more than happy to "Put on A Hat and Read With the Cat," which was our reading slogan for this year.  Nine fifth graders and one third grader read books to our Pre-K through second grade students.  They did a FANTASTIC job!!  The students were happily engaged and the readers asked questions throughout the book. I'd like to thank the following students for making our Read Across America Day a great success:

Kelis Cooper, Arkaelyn Lewis, Micha McCou, Vernon Jackson, Shaitearia Sampson, Christian McCou, Christopher Stiff, Amir Collins, Ka'Darius Wilkins, and Jeremy Martin.
