SCS District Mission

Academic Achievement: Number 1

SCS District Vision

Shelby County Schools will be an internationally competitive urban school system that produces well-rounded, high-achieving students.

Gardenview's Mission:

Gardenview Elementary School will create a safe environment where all children will affirm their individual and collective greatness through successful learning.

Gardenview's Vision:

Gardenview's vision is grounded in the belief that all children can learn when taught effectively and that student learning is the chief priority for the school. It acknowledges that a safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning and that students' learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions affecting the work of the school. It affirms that each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs and that students learn in different ways and should be provided a variety of instructional approaches to actively engage them in the learning process. Curriculum and instructional practices that accommodate such differences in learning styles reflect a commitment to continuous improvement that encourages students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners.
