Notice of School-wide Title I Program Eligibility

2014-2015 School Year

 

We have been notified that our school qualifies to receive federal funds under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, Title I, Part A, for the above indicated school year.

 

Our school is eligible for the following:

 

School-wide Title I Program:  Schools may consolidate and use funds under Title I, together with other federal, state, and local funds, in order to upgrade the entire educational program in schools, in which not less than 40% of the children qualify for free or reduced lunch.

 

We look forward to your involvement in school activities and your child’s education.  You will receive notices and information throughout the school year to keep you informed about the progress of your child as well as the status of our school in making progress toward helping all our children meet the State’s high academic standards. We also look forward to your attendance at school meetings when we will discuss the development, revision, and implementation of our school-wide program plan. Our goal is to ensure all children are performing at or above grade level.

McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act

The mandates of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Act prescribes that homeless children have access to a free, appropriate public education, including access to public preschool programs.

Attached you will find an informational flyer to provide you with more assistance if needed. Additionally, you may contact Yolanda Taylor, Title I PLC Coach at Grahamwood Elementary 901-416-5996 or the contact information provided on the flyer. This information is also posted on all entrance doors of the school.

Here are just some of ways you can become involved Grahamwood Elementary School:

Remember that not everyone is suited for the same type of involvement. You may have to “try on” a number of different activities before you find something that feels right for you. If you are at a loss for how you can help, just ask your child’s teacher, school administrators and the GPA officers and members. We are all happy to help you find “your fit”!
