Kindergarten Vegetable Garden
Ms. Ann, along with students in her kindergarten class, take delight in planting and tending
our school's vegetable garden. Students actively participate in this activity throughout the school
year. Ms. Ann has secured grant funding to purchase a rain barrel to provide water for our garden.
She also purchased other tools to make their work more efficient. Jim Levernier and Claire Stallings
of Idlewild Presbyterian Church, our adopters, helped to anchor the rain barrels to our neighbor,
Jack Morris's, drainage system. This year students planted spinach, carrots, tomatoes, bell peppers,
beans, onions and squash, all from seeds, in hopes to make a vegetable soup. Students not only
enjoy eating their produce, but also enjoy sharing with others in the school and neighborhood.
