Memphis City Schools

Dear Lucie E. Campbell Community,

At Lucie, our mission is to prepare our students to be successful, productive citizens in the future world of work by empowering them to read, comprehend ideas, think critically, compute, and analyze. We want to provide a stimulating learning environment with technological orientation across the whole curriculum, which maximizes individual potential and ensures that students of all ability levels are well equipped to meet the challenges of education, work and life.

Our challenge is to embrace the future of the 21st century and assure our students are properly prepared to become leaders in this exciting new world. In order to accomplish this monumental task we must provide the following: a high level of personalization in every aspect of a student's school experience, a proud recognition for individual and group accomplishments, as well as for diligence and hard work, and, an unwavering commitment to the development of character and civic responsibility in our young people.

By doing this, we will fulfill our vision as a learning community committed to excellence in education and to provide equal opportunity and an appreciation of diversity among all students.  We promote a love for life-long learning and the development of responsible citizens in a global society.

To our parents, it is through your support that we make a significant difference in the lives of our students. As we strive to take Lucie beyond its state standing as a non-proficient elementary to one of national and global recognition, our partnership becomes that much more critical. We believe it is important for families, community and schools to work together in supporting student success and we want our students to value this partnership.  The Lucie community has dedicated itself completely to the education of its students and has placed great trust in our school. We understand the importance of this trust and vow to work for the best interests of our students and community.

We recognize the importance of a blend of academic and co-curricular activities as a means of developing the whole student.  We pursue these goals from a background of cultural heritage and our core values of commitment to excellence, collaboration, respect, accountability and leadership. Our district serves as a foundation for the future success of our students and depends on the collaborative efforts of the Lucie community to support the achievement of our goals.
