IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS!

 TN Promise:

I am challenging all high schools to join the statewide push to encourage seniors to make the Tennessee Promise. We know every student is not destined for a four-year college or university. We also know a lot of students are not considering post-secondary education because of the cost alone. Tennessee Promise offers two years of free tuition for community or technical colleges, beginning with this year's seniors. Students are even assigned a personal mentor to support them during the college application process. It's an incredible opportunity, and we have to make sure our students and families are informed and engaged. We will be launching some campaigns within the District to build momentum, but I'm also challenging our high schools to be creative and committed in urging seniors to consider the Tennessee Promise.

Low-Cost Internet for Families:

We are all committed to closing gaps among students and increasing opportunities to help students be successful. In this digital age, one of the biggest challenges we still face is that many of our students and families have limited or no access to the Internet. It impacts our ability to communicate, and, more importantly, it limits students' ability to access information to support their learning outside of the school day. Comcast has low-cost options available for students, including up to six months free and service as low as $9.95 per month. Please view this information, and make every effort to help make your students and families aware of this service.
