Southwind Elementary School is fortunate to have the best leadership team in the County. They are often found in the classrooms, cafeteria, and halls observing the high level of learning taking place on a daily basis. Greetings Southwind Elementary Students and Families!

Welcome back to a new school year! Did you do anything exciting? Did you read any good books see any good movies? Did you stay cool and hydrated? I hope you had a great summer break and you are ready for an exciting school year.

I am looking forward to another great year at the best school in SCS! Our teachers come to Southwind Elementary prepared to activate minds and motivate students to learn and think creatively and critically about their learning. Teachers at Southwind Elementary are masters of their craft and understand the importance of preparing our students for the 21st century and beyond. We will support our students as they grow academically and socially to ensure that students are making the necessary progress in their academic, cultural, and social growth.

Our theme this year is “Student Achievement and Performance!" We expect all students to learn and grow during each calendar year and failure is not an option.  We expect students to come to school and be engaged in the learning process and prepared for the school day.  Lastly, we expect all students to conduct themselves in a respectful manner worthy of being a Southwind Seahawk.

Look for updates in the Parent/Student Handbook on the Southiwnd Elementary School website. Also, follow the school on Twitter, InStagram, and on Facebook.

Looking forward to continued excellence during the 2017-2018 school year!

It is an honor to be a part of the Southwind Elementary community both as an educator and a parent. Southwind is a place where students succeed at high levels and where families are involved. It provides a perfect setting for children to grow and bloom. One of our goals at Southwind is to serve and nurture all our students. This aim begins with our Kindergarten class. We are committed to making every year an exceptional experience for all students.
