MARKETING I ME351
Grade 11
Marketing I provides studies which focus on the functions of
marketing and basic business activities. Units of study
include job search skills, economic principles, product
development, advertising, selling, pricing, and
distribution. A "C" average in basic math and English is
recommended. All students are required to join DECA, an
association for Marketing students. DECA is a co-curricular
activity offering students opportunities to develop
leadership skills. Members are eligible to participate in
conferences and competitive events at the local, state, and
national level.

FASHION RETAILING
ME412 Grade 12
Fashion Marketing is an extension of the core curriculum
of Marketing Education. Individual and group projects will
be utilized to expand practical applications to the fashion
industry. Specific units of study will include an overview
of the fashion industry, product information and technology,
promotion and merchandising, and merchandising math
operations. Students may earn an additional unit of credit
for training received on a fashion related job if they meet
the standards of the cooperative vocational program.
Membership in DECA is required.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP
ME422 Grade 12
Entrepreneurship develops skills for students who desire
to manage and/or own a marketing related business. It
prepares students to undertake the formation and operation
of a business enterprise and provides advanced study of the
functions of marketing and management. Areas of study
include marketing and economic foundations, human resource
development, business management, promotion, pricing, and
product/service development. Students may earn an additional
unit of credit for work experience in a marketing related
occupation by meeting the standards of the cooperative
vocational program. Membership in DECA is required.

MARKETING CO-OP
ME457 Grade 12
Marketing Co-op is a requirement for students enrolled
in the combined or technical path programs. The co-op
program allows the second year marketing student to obtain a
credit for work experience. The student must complete a
total of 360 work credit hours in a marketing related
occupation approved by the instructor. Requirements also
include a written report each six weeks and completion of an
evaluation by the employer. Co-op credit may only be
obtained is a student is enrolled in a second year marketing
class.
