The Department of Planning & Accountability provides a consolidated, district-wide view into enrollment, performance and student needs across the District. We also support the District in making strategic, data-driven decisions.
Shelby County Schools is the LEA and authorizer of charter schools for its own District. While charter schools are autonomous and have their own governance structures and policies, SCS oversees compliance in areas, such as state reporting, special education and state assessments. The District may also grant charters and renew or revoke existing charters.
