COVID-19 Sensitivity

The resources included on this page are designed to help principals and supervisors discuss ways to prevent social stigma associated with COVID-19 through sensitivity training. This aligns with the District's Staff Ethics and Best Practices policies (4002 and 6046).

Social stigma is the negative association between a person or group who share certain characteristics and a specific disease. In an outbreak, this may mean people are labelled, stereotyped, discriminated against, treated separately and/or experience a loss of status.

Please use these resources to talk with your staff about sensitivity and avoiding negative impacts caused by social stigma.
