Insofar as possible, the Board will name a school after the name of the geographic
section which it serves. If the school is not to be named for the section which
it serves, a representative group of parents will be consulted in naming the
school.
Schools shall not be named for a living person.
The naming of any and all school facilities and real estate, including all buildings,
structures, athletic facilities, athletic fields, practice fields, playgrounds,
streets, etc., requires the prior approval of the Shelby County Board of Education.
