APECS is a modern business information and accounting system built specifically for K-12 school districts. It has been used for more than two decades by Shelby County Schools. Primary capabilities include management of functions for HR, payroll and timesheets, finance, employee benefits, purchasing and procurement. It is also the system that allows employees to check paystubs, personal health insurance information and vacation\/sick time.<\/p>

Access to and use of APECS will vary for employees according to their roles in the district. Some employees will have greater administrative capabilities, such as those who deal with finances in a school or department, those involved with payroll and benefits and those who work in procurement. Most users will utilize the system only for personal employment information, such as pay stubs, health insurance information and to check vacation\/sick time.
District-wide APECS training began in April 2013 and continue through the start of the 2013-14 school year. All training will be conducted according to role. Employee Portal Webex Training<\/strong>
The Employee Portal is a web-based point of access for all employee information. This course is designed to familiarize all employees with the APECS Employee Portal. Topics include: Accessing the Employee Portal, Displaying and Maintaining Employee Data, and Viewing Payroll Information. Before viewing, please sign up for the class in MyLearningPlan (http:\/\/www.mylearningplan.com<\/a>). The course is listed on the calendar on June 15, 2013.
