Teacher Tenure Announcement

Attention Fully Licensed Educators! Now that we have received LOEs from TDOE, the HR team is working to implement the Tenure process. Pursuant to § 49-1-302,  teachers must meet the following criteria to be eligible for tenure (effective July 1, 2011):

  •  (1) Served five (5) school years or not less than forty-five (45) months within a seven-year period as a probationary teacher in Shelby County Schools; and
  • (2) Received evaluations demonstrating an overall performance effectiveness level (LOE) of “above expectations” or “significantly above expectations” provided by the evaluation guidelines adopted by the state board of education pursuant to § 49-1-302, during the last two (2) years of the teacher’s probationary period.

Although HR will pull existing data to identify all teachers who meet these criteria, we are asking that any teachers who suspect that they are eligible, also complete this form as an additional layer of information. Please complete the form by TODAY! https://forms.office.com/r/DrG6Bfhz1Y
