Thank you for implementing the 3GC criteria for the 21-22 school year. As you are aware, there was a Good Cause exemption for 2nd grade students who did not meet the 3GC criteria for them to be promoted to 3rd grade. The Good Cause exemption was for students who have IEPs (SPED), ILPs, (ELL), and 504 plans.
For these 2nd grade students who qualified for the Good Cause exemption, if the elementary site is planning to retain these students again in 2nd grade for the 2022-23 school year, the school must hold an official IEP (SPED), ILP (ELL) or 504 meeting with the parent in the first two weeks of school in order to review this decision with the parent and team for the upcoming school year. A central office staff member from the appropriate department must be invited and attend this meeting.
If the school is promoting their identified 2nd grade students with Good Cause exemptions to the 3rd grade for upcoming school year, no further action is needed, and students identified as Good Cause exemption will automatically be promoted in system to 3rd grade.

According to state board rule 0520-02-01 and state board policy 5.201, a certified evaluator must evaluate all educators annually. The department conducts initial certification and recertification training, administers certification tests, issues evaluator credentials, and provides continuous evaluator support for the TEAM rubric.
Educators must be certified. Conducting observations without full certification is a grievable offense. Certification entails participating in an official state-sponsored TEAM training and passing the subsequent online certification test. Certification is valid through June of the current school year regardless of the certification date.
Please submit your TEAM certificate to eps@scsk12.org upon completion of the course. Certification must be completed by August 31, 2022.
The SY2022-2023 TEM and NIE Evaluator Certification periods are open for new and returning evaluators. For more information, check out SY2022-2023 TEM & NIE Evaluator Certification Process. Registration is required in PLZ (registrations will open 30 days prior to the session start date).
Questions? Please reach out to eps@scsk12.org.
Returning TEM & NIE Certification must be completed by August 31, 2022.
