Memphis-Shelby County Schools will begin using the Intermittent Homebound code for students with a medically diagnosed chronic health condition that causes the student to be absent for intermittent periods during the school year.
This code (IHB) is a "Present" designation. A licensed physician must certify that the student's chronic medical condition will require him/her to be out for at least 10 days during the school year. These absences do not have to be consecutive.
The Intermittent Homebound referral process is the same as for Hospital/Homebound. The form must be submitted to the S.E.E.D. Homebound Office for approval. Referral forms have been shared with school counselors. Please see the document for additional information regarding this process.

Leaders, please take the time to review this important information about the TEAM evaluation for the 2022-23 school year. The TEAM evaluation process aims to provide leaders with a model that helps us continuously improve our practice. The administrator evaluation combines self-reflection, observation, input of school staff, and student data to create a complete picture of an administrator’s performance. By using observations and data together, TEAM allows districts and school leaders to have an ongoing dialogue about how what happens in the classroom impacts student performance.
Here’s the video of the PowerPoint presentation that further explains the process
This year, along with observation of practices, data monitoring, coaching conversations, and ongoing collection of artifacts and evidence by the ILDs and Assistant Superintendents, principals will submit 3 artifacts and a description for Self-Score Observation #1 and Self-Score Observation #2.
