Demographic filters:
Demographic Filters allow administrators to view results for specific demographic groups, compare student performance across demographic groups, and align data analysis to the reporting requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Currently, MSCS Administrators can view the following demographic filters right in the dashboard: Sex, Hispanic or Latino, race, English Learner, and Special Education.
Recently, i-Ready updated this feature to allow you to view your data by one or two filters. For example, you could look at your data by race and special education at once right in the dashboard.
For more information on demographic filters and how to view i-Ready reports with demographic filters applied, click here.
Hello Principal,
New for this school year, the Physical Activity Compliance Report for the Department of Education will be in ePlan. You will be reporting data on the integration of required physical activity into the instructional school day and the minimum elementary physical education instruction as they relate to T.C.A. § 49-6-1021. A question list for this brief report is attached for your reference, but your responses need to be entered in ePlan. The technical guide attached will help you navigate the report. Once you fully know the answers to your questions, the ePlan reporting process will take less than 10 minutes.
The reporting window will be open from Feb 1 – Mar 1. Your timely reporting of your school-level data is appreciated, as it will also support the Coordinated School Health reporting process. Details for office hours established specifically for this report with TDOE are linked in the attached technical guide. Thank you, and please let me know if I can be of any assistance!

We've got exciting news! The EDI Team has a newsletter “Disciplining with Dignity”. Keep up with “News You Can Use" and more.
We will continue to report suspensions (i.e., ISS, OSS and EXP) in Incident Management.
However on occasion, you will need to document the specifics of Bullying, Harassment or Title IX related allegations that do not necessarily rise to the level of suspension. To ensure that we collect the federally mandated info connected to these types of events, we will report these particular incidents in the Bullying Log Type within Log Entry as in the past.
This DO NOT affect or remove any other additional reporting requirements for Bullying, Harassment, Intimidation or Title IX incidents. Follow your Harassment checklist found in the Discipline Guidelines Bullying section for additional clarity.
If you have questions pertaining to log entry, please email Dr. JB Blocker at BLOCKERJ@scsk12.org. If you have questions regarding other bullying reporting requirements/steps, email Dr. Alvin Harris at HARRISAE1@scsk12.org.
Just as a reminder, if a parent/guardian does not attend the scheduled SART meeting, schools must conduct a follow-up SART meeting by phone (or in person if the parent agrees to come to an in-person meeting). When you conduct a follow-up SART meeting after a No Show, please implement the following:
If you are still unable to reach the parent, the meeting remains a No Show and no PSAP is completed.
If you have any questions or need support, please email Thomasena Stuckett at stucketttd@scsk12.org.
Please provide the parent with the Official Notice of Out of School Suspension along with DHA Request Link or tell the parent that they can contact the SEED Department at 901-416-6007 and clerical personnel will email the parent the link upon request.
Parents are being told they have 10 school days to request a DHA hearing, that is NOT correct. Parents must request a hearing within 5 school days of the suspension. If they request a hearing after the 5th day, we will encourage them to contact the Alternative School Office to begin the orientation process at 901-416-2200.
Please ensure completion of a centralized withdrawal form for expelled students (11 days or more) and note the school reviewer and checklist sections have been completed by schools for final approval by SEED.
Students will remain active on your school’s roster until notification of centralized withdrawal form approvals and students have enrolled in alternative schools.

Attention Elementary School Principals
1:1 device accessory level setting will occur at elementary schools from Monday, February 13 - Friday, February 24. The 1:1 Device Team will report to your school to provide students in grades 3-5 with a keyboard, protective case, and screen protector as indicated on the linked schedule.
To minimize interruptions to the instructional environment, we ask that you provide an open space for the 1:1 Device Team to utilize for accessory distribution and use the schedule to create a plan for students in grades 3-5 with devices to rotate to the designated distribution space.
This process should cause minimal disruption to the daily schedule.
