Celebrating growth with students and families: After the second diagnostic is a perfect time to celebrate i-Ready growth with both students and families. Use public announcements, bulletin boards, certificates, communication home or rewards to highlight when a student or class has reached a goal and/or made progress. Celebrating growth, rather than just a fixed end goal, provides an opportunity to acknowledge students who may not usually get recognized for academic success. Below are some resources that can be used to celebrate with students and families:
CCTE solicits your support as we work with teachers to meet the 10,000 (10K) certification goal. We are asking all Middle and High School Administrators to revisit the CCTE Industry Certification Testing schedule and work with CCTE educators to ensure that all students are tested by the set deadline.
Advisors will be available via the Certification Help Desk each Thursday from 3:30 – 4:30 pm for educators with individual certification needs. The Help Desk TEAMS meeting link is available via the weekly CCTE Monday updates.
Reach out to your school-level CCTE Advisor for any needed support.

Just as a reminder, if a parent/guardian does not attend the scheduled SART meeting, schools must conduct a follow-up SART meeting by phone (or in person if the parent agrees to come to an in-person meeting). When you conduct a follow-up SART meeting after a No Show, please implement the following:
If you are still unable to reach the parent, the meeting remains a No Show and no PSAP is completed.
If you have any questions or need support, please email Thomasena Stuckett at stucketttd@scsk12.org.
Please see the Rethink Ed inclement weather information for the remainder of the month.
Please provide the parent with the Official Notice of Out of School Suspension along with DHA Request Link or tell the parent that they can contact the SEED Department at 901-416-6007 and clerical personnel will email the parent the link upon request.
Parents are being told they have 10 school days to request a DHA hearing, that is NOT correct. Parents must request a hearing within 5 school days of the suspension. If they request a hearing after the 5th day, we will encourage them to contact the Alternative School Office to begin the orientation process at 901-416-2200.
Greetings Principals,
Memphis-Shelby County Schools recognize the responsibility of the news media to provide accurate and timely information; however, we are obligated to protect the privacy of students and employees.
