Transportation packets will be delivered by the mailroom to schools Friday, July 28th, and Monday, July 31st. The packets contain a transportation handbook, card stock, and bus rules. Elementary packets will also include K-1 stickers to place on kindergarten and first-grade students' bus passes. If you do not receive a packet by Tuesday, August 1st, please email the Transportation office at TransAdminSupport@scsk12.org or call (901) 416-6077.

Transportation personnel will email bus pass files to school Principals and designees beginning Friday, July 28th. A blank bus pass file will also be included for schools to issue temporary bus passes to newly enrolled students whose information is not in PowerSchool. Please ensure you print the bus passes on the appropriate color card stock (ES-Pink, MS-Lime Green, HS-Gold). It is the responsibility of the school to ensure eligible bus riders are issued bus passes.

Bus drivers will create a seating chart and students are required to sit in the assigned seat each day unless otherwise directed by the driver. School support will be requested if students do not follow the process as directed. This process will help drivers identify bus riders and assist with emergencies when needed. First Student requests a three-day advance notice for buses. The bus cost is $48.74 per hour with a minimum charge of two hours ($97.48) round trip per bus. First Student’s charges are calculated based on gate-to-gate transportation.

The SEED Department will be hosting a mandatory in-service for all school support staff on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the University of Memphis Psychology Auditorium. This event is open to all general office secretaries and clerical assistants.
The purpose of this in-service is to provide participants with the most up-to-date practices and procedures to ensure alignment with district guidelines and policies. Additionally, it will share world-class operational experience from various Central Office Departments.

The Tennessee Code Annotated has been revised to include Threats of Mass Shootings as Zero Tolerance Category (A) Offenses that will now mandated 180 days of suspension at the school level. Please ensure that you satisfy your RTI2-B Tier 1 expectations by communicating this change in law to your student and parent populations. We want to ensure that students are aware of the disciplinary responses connected to Threats of Mass Shootings that are connected to the school environment.

Gear Up 4 School Day is Tuesday, August 1 at all schools! All schools open 8am – 2pm and 4 – 6:30pm
Save the date! Our annual Back to School Family Festival is Saturday, August 5, at the Board of Education. Come out for a FREE day of family fun from 10am until 2pm, including food, music, school supply giveaways, games and more. Plus – get help with new and returning student registration, and student transfers.
Gear Up for School Day is Tuesday, August 1 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 4 – 6:30 p.m. at all schools districtwide. This is a great opportunity to provide support or obtain documents for your optional program. Please consider having a dedicated staff person in a clearly identified area for current and prospective optional program families. This time can be utilized to assist parents in submitting their child’s renewal application, solicit new optional applications, or answer questions.
Our office will be available to answer questions and provide support during this event as well. Let’s Gear Up!

Dashboard Rollover has started and is scheduled to be completed July 31st.
As we prepare updates for the new school year, some reports will be temporarily unavailable or will have data refreshes paused (only showing updates as of 6/9). All reports will be available again and will refresh normally by the start of school.
New user access will also be paused at this time. For any new users or staff changing building locations- once rollover is complete, access will be updated prior to the start of school. For more information, contact us at DAIMSUPPORT@scsk12.org
School Improvement Plans – because access updates are paused, anyone who needs access to a new school (and already has PowerBI access) will still be able to see data in School Profile. This should help with the completion of SIPs. For more information see this user guide.

Instructional Evaluation Certification- According to Tennessee State Board of Education policy 5.201, all educators must be evaluated annually by a certified evaluator.
