Important: MSCS Event Procedures

As regular season winter contests begin, please be reminded:

  • Staff, students, and families should be reminded of MSCS event security procedures and clear bag policies.
  • Post signage around your venue entrances and notify attendees to alleviate confusion at ticket gates.
  • To the extent possible, ask your players to avoid bringing backpacks to the games.
  • Refresher Video: MSCS Event Security Procedures Video
  • Volunteer coaches should have completed the background check process with FACE.
  • Unauthorized people should not be allowed in team areas i.e. sidelines, benches, locker rooms etc.…
  • Children that are not participating are not allowed on sidelines and benches.
  • Behavioral expectations should be announced to all players and visitors prior to any athletic event.
  • All MSCS Employees should be reminded to observe the MSCS Employee Standards of Conduct at events via Employee Handbook.
  •  Each participating school must have an administrator or designee present at every athletic contest and identify themselves to any officials directing the game.
  • An administrator or designee should accompany visiting teams upon arrival and departure from the facility.
  • The host school is responsible for the safe passage of game officials upon arrival and departure from the facility.

Safety isn't limited to the time spent at athletic contests; it extends to when our staff, students and fans leave the venue. We encourage you to communicate and promote these important safety tips:

  • Park in Well-Lit Areas: Advise staff, students, and fans to park their vehicles in well-lit areas. Visibility is a powerful deterrent to unwanted incidents.
  • Valuables Out of Sight: Remind everyone to stow valuables out of sight. Leaving items in plain view may attract theft.
  • Lock Your Vehicles: Ensure that vehicles are securely locked. This simple step can prevent break-ins.
  • Travel in Groups: Encourage carpooling or walking in groups, especially at night. There's safety in numbers.
  • Report Signs of Trouble: If anyone sees trouble or suspicious activity, urge them to report it to the proper authorities immediately.

Safety is a collective responsibility, and by promoting these measures, we can help keep our school community safe even after the final whistle has blown. Thank you for your commitment to safety and the well-being of our school community.

Immunization Compliance

According to Power BI, MSCS district currently has 667 students (9.3%) of KK showing as non-compliant with immunization requirements. It is imperative that you review your school’s kindergarten immunization compliance status in Immunization Tracker - Power BI and ensure that 100% of your students are compliant. Instruct your records compliance team to identify students listed as noncompliant. All students showing non-compliant should be investigated further for compliance status. If your investigation reveals the student is not in compliance with required kindergarten immunizations, the student is to be withdrawn immediately.

Please contact Dr. Willie Williams at 901.416.8838 or williamswc@scsk12.org, if you have any questions.
